Winning the Food & Drink category last year was a fantastic experience. I cannot deny that I approached the whole event with some trepidation. Not having entered anything like this before stepping into the unknown can be daunting. My advice would be, go for it! It’s a great feel good factor for your business, and who doesn’t like a pat on the back for all of the hard work, we as independents put in on a daily basis. The event helped Christopher’s form even stronger ties within the community at large, and the publicity in the aftermath of winning the award was second to none. If you have been nominated, complete that application form, get yourself there on the night, meet like minded people, and get ready for a thoroughly positive experience that will carry on for months after the event.

Winning Technology Business of the Year in 2018 was a huge achievement for Maximity. Knowing we have the support and recognition from other local businesses is invaluable in helping grow my business and in helping me build a brand that people recognize. If you’re looking at ways to build your credibility, these awards are definitely something to enter. A huge thank you to Dave and Andy for all their hard work in organising such a great event.

I’m really sorry I can’t be there in person on the night of the Awards. We love being a part of the Tamworth Awards because as Tamworth’s leading insurance broker we know how fantastic this town is & that’s why in spite of all of the outstanding businesses in this town we were absolutely delighted to win the 2018 Tamworth Professional Business of the Year Award, and we’d like to retain it, very, very much!

We won the award for b2b and service in 2018. It has meant so much to us that we have been recognized in this way. It makes our business stand out and we can shout from the roof tops that Central Hub Logistics LTD, care about our customers and the work we do behind the scenes. That people see us for being local, being proactive, giving a great service, a bespoke service and where nothing is too much trouble.
It reflects in our ‘can do’ ethos that we instill in all our staff. It’s the difference of telling potential new customers we are Central Hub Logistics to saying ‘Award winning’ Central Hub Logistics. It projects the image that we can – and excuse the pun – go that extra mile and that we are that established and professional company that trust to deliver or store their goods. Creating a trust and respect before we have even provided that service in some circumstances it’s a great selling point of our business.
But it’s also not about one person it’s about the TEAM. We all work to one aim.
It’s also about the community we belong to. Giving back a little when we can, by supporting local projects over the years. Steve and myself continually contribute our time and services to work with the likes of Simons Heroes, The cancer centre, Cardiac Risk in the young Tamworth Screening weekend, Homeless projects and A Hub for the Yorkshire floods, to name a few. We have a business and we give back to our community. For this we are recognizable and it’s important to all at CHL that what we do makes a difference. But winning such accolades gives our company a pedestal and we hope we have lived up to meet and beat people’s expectations both in our logistics industry and within our community.
A huge thank you to Dave and Andy for putting the awards on and giving businesses the opportunity we have had.

At Kingsbury Lawn Care, we’re huge supporters of the Tamworth Business and Community Awards for a multitude of reasons. Since being recognised with ‘Highly Commended’ in 2017, and winning Trades Business of the Year in 2018, business has moved from strength to strength.
We proudly use the Tamworth Business Awards logo on our uniform, marketing materials and our website. We use it as a mark of quality within our marketing rather than depend on expensive online lead platforms, which are often poorly vetted anyway. In conjunction with our UK Lawn Care Association membership, we are extremely confident in our ability to attract leads and converting these to new customers. The Tamworth Business Awards win gives us an inner confidence that we are the best in the area at what we do, and the customer finds this also. Not only are we able to charge a small price premium, but this spring we converted over 75% of our leads to new customers, and received more word of mouth recommendations in 2019 already than ever before. Winning Trades Business of the Year has certainly been a major factor in this.
On the assumption we look to recruit in the medium term, I would expect our success at the Tamworth Business Awards to positively impact the quality of candidates. They would be safe in the knowledge they’d be part of a leading local business along with the perk of an awards night. The award win gives the business credibility and a unique selling point over our competitors – for both future customers and staff.
We enjoy a night off! Spring and autumn are our busiest times of year, and as a small team of two going on three, it’s vital that we look after ourselves. Looking after staff is vital to the success of a small business and the awards night is our one night a year to dress up, treat the girls and enjoy ourselves. Business is a lonely place at times and being part of a bigger family of local businesses is a special night to be a part of.
